I would like to sell a product (not a beverage) at a vending table in boston for the summer? How do i apply for a vendors licence and how much does it cost?

I am selling glowy necklaces and other things this year as I always do but I'm running into trouble getting a license. I heard some people can get them easier than others, veterans, etc? Advice?

Do we have different rules because we are a not-for-profit, volunteer agency? I cant seem to find the answer anywhere, and no one wants to help me!!! We are in New York (not the city)! We have already applied for our vendors license but our Town is corrupt, and have created a monoply and denied our application so they can make the money for the image committee!! We were kind of looking for a way around it without getting a lawyer and making it ugly!

I would like to start selling dinners or maybe get a store front and open up a little candy store any suggestions?
